It is so obvious that the fence is missing on the left side. Either these cops are retarded, OR: They just didnt want to follow the guy into a field, so they made up some ghost story to cover their own asses down at the precinct. By the way, what kind of a tv show is this?!? I thought the car was going to vanish or do something somewhat paranormal.... well, either way, it was pretty amusing...

seems to me the car goes to the left across a broken part of the fence... the cops stop on the right side looking at an intact part of the fence...Looks like that to me anyway

Freeze it at 1:53, there is no fence there to the right. He went around the fenced part to the left. Pretty easy to figure out.
