pretty soon if you fart in public, you're gonna get an air pollution ticket in the mail, with a court date detailed with court costs listed and directions to the work camp..what a racket!

"Besides, capitalism is pretty broken when it appears to benefit the workers of communist nations more than it's own citizens." Exactly. Our so called capitalist country went down the tube due, in large part, to corporate welfare for the barons. Meanwhile, the so called communist China is on the verge of taking over this country. All they have to do is call in their debt and our economy will take a full generation to recover.

"You do that just to be snarky, don't you? ;)" Yes.

You do that just to be snarky, don't you? ;) Yeah, most people think socialism means being in a cold war movie set in the USSR. I agree, corporations have WAY too much to do with our daily lives and direction of our future.

Yeah Black Water is spooky. Privatization doesn't have to be scary, just most people who privatize things are greedy creeps. I also don't think it should be considered any more socialistic than paying the military to have Hospitals, Prisons, and law enforcement payed by the local government. Besides, capitalism is pretty broken when it appears to benefit the workers of communist nations more than it's own citizens.

"Firefighters aren't payed based on the amount of fires they put out (at least, I don't believe they are), no one calls it socialism." I do on occasion, but I don't have an unwarranted fear of the word or the concept of socialism. We have a LOT of socialism already; *corporate* welfare is the real problem. Most of the socialized grants and tax breaks have spent the last 8 years going to the most wealthy people.

Black Water is private arm force. There are towns around the country that hire private companies to run their municipals, other than Police and Fire Department for now. Just because it is not privatized now does not mean it is safe.
