Ok, not sure what you are thinking about regarding the road to hell, crusades?
I worry about Islam and about Christians who are against stem cell research and have opinions that are tainted by religious dogma rather than based on rationality.
Religion is about accepting a proposition with absolutely no evidence and there is this ridiculous honor system for being able to believe something without any reason. The less likely it is the more honorable to still believe it. That seems to be the idea.

Well, I believe that it could and will be, but I am mindfull not to fall down the same foolish path that the religious have choosen. It is what choice you make with the content that counts. There are always great truths to be untold. "the road to hell was paved with good intentions!" lol

I actually do believe that science will be able to deliver way more than we expected and even where religion promised it, i.e. eternal life. I believe that we will be able to solve the 'mortality issue'. :-)
I think there will come a day when the last person dies. :-)
With my luck they will solve the mortality issue the day after I die.
I think science will be able to make us very happy. I am an optimist.

Note that we were walking on the moon pretty much within a century from when the scientific era really took off. It was suppressed by religious dogma for long. It of course also matters that some smart people had time to think instead of just survive.
Science understanding produces new technology which is an aid in improving science and it is all just a positive spiral.

Well, not sure why you laughed but laughing is good.
I actually may get into string theory myself, possibly, if I feel the urge to think that much. The current count is 11 dimensions but I am not sure of what it means or how correct the theory is.
I like the Simpson episode when he comes out in our world. Cool stuff.

We are on the cusp of an evolutionary leap my friend. Try to imagine what it was like going from only being able to percieve two demensions, to being able to percieve three. It did not happen quickly. Just try and say hello to pac-man, or sim joe, and explain to them that you are in control of thier life. lol
...but this next leap is about "quickly". Time and space are just now being understood. ie, 4 dem.. I had a moment recently when I looked at the clock, and burst into laughter. lol
